Summary of Crossing Burning Bridges One Woman's Amazing Journey
|
Summary of Snakes in Paha Sapa Tale Of A Lakota Nation
|
S T O L E N from the Lakota people: the glorious beauty of the Black Hills located in South Dakota and Wyoming, also known as
Paha Sapa, that radiated for miles receiving their name due to the closely woven foliage that forms their unique rich color of
blackish-green. Paha Sapa was the center of their universe where all creatures were created from. The loss of Paha Sapa to the
Lakota people was the turning point in their heritage and their spiritual culture.
After being confined to a reservation and following a lifetime of preventing the Whites from stealing resources from his sacred
land, a 40 year old once-feared Lakota warrior begins recruiting allies for a legal journey to reclaim Paha Sapa for his people. In
his quest during the 1880s, he experiences new things for the first time being thrust into a White man's way of life as if seeing it
through the eyes of a child. He enlists the help of a Lakota tribe member educated by the White man and a fiercely independent
White woman rancher who restores his faith that he is not alone in his fight for his land, freedom and spirit. She finds a new
mission in life - to bring awareness to the theft of Paha Sapa. This independent woman discovers love for the first time in an
aging Lakota warrior - beginning a love story that becomes legendary. He fights next to her when her treacherous neighbor tries
to steal her ranch, legacy, and her very life. Lakota customs and legends unfold as this courageous warrior tells his story and
about the wrongdoings that they have faced. The heroine's ranchhands are misfits who aren't accepted anywhere other than
working for a woman in their era, which adds even more character to their lives. This strong woman brings together nationalities
from many heritages: White, Black, Mexican, Lakota and Cherokee to live and work under the same umbrella of unity. The tribe
member educated by the Whites devotedly dedicates his life for the legal crusade that the Lakota face in the regaining of their
sacred Paha Sapa.
Snakes in Paha Sapa leads the reader through endless adventure, a multitude of action, sprinkled with historic elements, and a bit
of humor. The author brings intrigue to the many startling events that happen along the way which keeps the story
emotionally-charged, interesting, educational, romantic and entertaining from the courageous people living at the Paradise Valley
Ranch.
After a horrific airplane accident, Jordan Walsh reminisces her life for her newly discovered sister who lies unconscious in a
hospital from the same crash. Jordan reveals that after years of misguided attempts to win love and affection from her deceitful
and unapproachable parents, she learns independence and boundlessness at an early age to become one of the most successful
women in her field. She brings herself out of poverty, and into the wealthy and glamourous celebrity world. Even with Jordan's
many adversities along the way, she incorporates humor into her life through practical jokes which brings laughter into her tragic
surroundings - jokes that were originally orchestrated in order to nullify the pain endured from childhood neglect. Jordan meets
the love of her life, sparking the headline: Sultry Redheaded Actress to Wed Playboy Daredevil Racer, and setting off the
first startling turn of events.
In part II, Jordan's tale embodies murder, deception, blackmail, kidnapping and betrayal with more than one paramount twist.
She learns that her professional success will never be more important than family as she once believed. Protecting her family by
whatever means necessary, even killing those who threaten their safety, has become her goal. Was it murder or justifiable
homicide - ruthlessness or survival? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned when someone close to Jordan wants to destroy all
traces of her existence. Jordan is determined to secure a safe sanctuary for the children, even if it means facing danger which
prompts family to rally around her. Who will become the casualty of retribution? Will Jordan find her heart's desire? Who will
defy death from the horrific airplane crash?

In her new novel, Crossing Burning Bridges, Author Cyndie M. Styles reveals the rags to riches account of actress Jordan
Melanie Walsh. Her life tells the story of a woman who through loss and love risks everything to protect certain people, whether
they deserve it or not, the people she calls family.
Throughout life, Jordan struggles to overcome the damage her swindling father causes her financially and the neglect of her
alcoholic mother, as she moves up the social ladder becoming a celebrity. Along her way, she learns real family concepts like
trust and security through her interactions with her grandparents, her brother and her uncle.
In her early adult life Jordan finds love, but a week before her wedding her fiancé suspiciously disappears, plunging her into
despair. After years of mourning, a chance encounter presents the opportunity for Jordan to build her own family. Seemingly
finding happiness, Jordan is presented with a ghost from her past. She is torn between her desire for passion and her need for
security.
Unexplainable accidents start happening with increasing frequency to the people in Jordan's life. The fact that Jordan’s finds out
she is the illegitimate daughter of a powerful man with designs on the presidency in the same time frame is too much to be
coincidence. Having power of her own, Jordan is forced to take matters into her own hands to protect those she loves.
Crossing Burning Bridges is a story of loyalty and love, of loss and acquisition. Cyndie M. Styles tells of people's choices and
the consequences of their decisions that are not only dangerous but could possibly result in death.

In her new novel, Snakes in Paha Sapa, Author Cyndie M. Styles describes a tender romance unfolding in the midst of one of the
most violent eras in American history. The backdrop for this touching story of love and family honor commences during the
1800s in the Wyoming Territory. Paha Sapa, the Black Hills of Wyoming and South Dakota, was the center of the universe for the
Lakota people where all creatures were created from. These hills were stolen from them by the government beginning in 1872
when the White man discovered gold there. The loss of Paha Sapa to the Lakota was the turning point in their heritage and their
spiritual culture. The anguish that pledged the Lakota people in fighting for their land rights is what brought this couple together,
love and family honor is what made their romance legendary.
Susan E. Paradise, an independent courageous woman, runs a ranch in Sundance in the Territory of Wyoming. With her strength
of family values from her parents and her charitable heart, Susan embarks on helping those in need, and her new mission in life
helps bring awareness to the theft of Paha Sapa. Life in the old west was not tame for this woman rancher, encountering cattle
rustling, stampedes and attempts from an evil adversary to steal her ranch and even her very life.
Snake Catcher, a 40 year old once-feared Lakota warrior, has all but given up on ever seeing Paha Sapa back under a Lakota
sovereignty. He begins recruiting allies for a legal journey to reclaim Paha Sapa for his people. This strong brave man finds his
worth in the world by fighting for human rights of all people. Life at the Paradise Valley Ranch proves to be adventurous and full
of new experiences for the aging warrior being thrust into a White man’s way of life as if seeing it through the eyes of a child.
Susan’s ranchhands are misfits who aren’t accepted anywhere other than working for a woman in that era, which adds even more
character to their lives. This historical fiction tells of how Paha Sapa was stolen while Lakota customs and legends unfold bringing
their story to be unfurled by future generations.
